About Us/Contact

More and more community food projects are taking root in and around Colchester and it's very exciting to see them grow and come into bloom as they gather garden lovers and growing enthusiasts from all different walks of life. Projects which involve seeing your own food grow, renewing your senses of what fruits and veggies actually taste like and sharing this experience with others give an exhilarating feeling.

It is Colchester Carrot's aim to enhance this feeling by linking all these great, new and established community garden projects together. We want to encourage  sharing ideas and experiences, swapping seeds and plants, trading tools and getting together to celebrate our garden adventures. This blog wants to give room to each individual project to introduce themselves and keep the wider community posted about their progress, the successes and challenges of gardening. If you would like your community food project included please get in touch.

We hope this will help raise awareness of what's going on encourage more people to get involved in their local community.

We are keen to promote learning that builds local food resilience through organic food growing and related skills and would like to facilitate workshops to share skills and knowledge. If you have experience of permaculture, no-dig gardening, polyculture, biodynamics, bee keeping, keeping chickens or other related skills please let us know.
